Locate device files to boot

Post by szupervigyor »

Hi.
I installed a Debian lenny to a usb-hdd(first partition).I plugged it into the first USB Slot of my PS2.But i cant guess the device path and name.i tried the /dev/hd(a,b,c,d,e) and /dev/sd(a,b...),but isn't worked.I booted and get ever this error: 'Please append the correct "root=" boot option' and kernel panic. :/

The Question is:
How to can i locate device before boot like in GRUB or LILO,or get anything minimal bash,or give other way to acces device (UUID,etc).

Thanks for the help, and sorry for my english.

This is a forum for development on the PS2. PS2-Linux non-development questions typically are asked on another forum. Here's a good one - http://psx-scene.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=167

The PS2-Linux threads you see here involve code debugging and bug reports for kernelloader by Mega Man which is NOT a PS2-Linux program (it is a PS2-Native .ELF).

Thanks!
