Hi, im just wondering if it is possible to run linux on a ps2 without a hardrive. Therefore only using a USB memory sitck.
If this isn't possible, can you use a USB hardrive instead. Or is there anyway of attaching a IDE hardrive to the Ps2 without the network adapter
Thanks from a Ps2 linux n00b!
Help With Ps2 Linux
Yes, it is possible to use USB memory stick or USB hard disc.
Only shutdown is not working correctly.
See http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=10156&start=0
When you have the fat PS2, you can use the official kloader 1.8 and kernel (vmlinux) at sourceforge. For starting the installed system, you need initrd.usb2.gz.

Any possible way of loading ELF files should work. I never tested starting from cd or dvd. My suggestion is to put also the kernels, the base image and the initrds on the cd/dvd.Craigz0rz wrote: is there anyway to start kloader by means other than listed in your tutorial?
would it work if i burnt kloader and system.cnf to a cd
