Does Playstaion 2 Linux kernelloader boot from usb-hdd on Playstation 2 V15?

The official released version 1.8 can't do it. It is possible that the test version for slim PSTwo will work. There is no automatic installation. Currently you need to do it manually as described in http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=10156.
