I am well aware of the Dark Alex 480x272 and bit rate issue, I also used PMP mod for some time but find it easier to use the PSP player for AVC videos . I was more talking about the NEW higher resolution of 720x480 , will this resloution make videos look a lot better than the 480x272 limit of PMP MOD?

The latest PSP firmware supports 720x480 resolution via AVC!


If Dark Alex cracks the firmware so a homebrew PSP can use it, does this rnean that PMP MOD finally becomes obselete?

Now that Dark Alex has cracked the 3.03 firmware so that MP4 AVCs can be run at full resolution 480x272 do we still need PMP MOD or AVC?

I have enjoyed these progs since they were first released last year but do we still need them in light of this new development or is their quality better

What is the latest version of PMP MOD that has the Resume functionality
built into the player.

im using the old malloc MOD but wondered if any of the newer versions

2.0 + suppported this ?
the ones i have tried do not appear to do so

i have not been here for a bit, im still very much enjoying using 1.02 version great picture quality no problems at all.

am i missing out by not using version 2.0 is the picture better etc?

To be honest i think there is a lot of fake science going on here! its like a desperate for the holy grail of picture quality and i think its largely wishful thinking, cmon 11 passes!!! imo the matrix demo was pretty poor all that ghosting I think the main thing is a good quality source, i have done...

1000 bit rate , hardup, 25ofps etc.

The picture was much better but has ghosting , i think when you get 2 pass going it will be great

for Vobs , videora 2xpass at 900kb works UMD quality for me Avis cant beat virtual dub 2x pass ,lanczos , 20 sharpening Cant get over how good this prog is i am pimping! This prog works very very quickly for me which is cool but the quality isnt that good.

One movie needs ca 30 hours with my 3,6Ghz P4 HT and file size gets around 1,5GB... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does a Direct VOB to PMP conversion

okay, I guess that makes sense. How about dvd's? can I use a vob file? or would I have to convert dvd to divx first? Anyone know?

i have ben happily converting my Avi's now i would like to try a few DVDs. however when i rip a DVD to a 1 file vob with dvd decrypter Virtualdubmod can open it but only converts the 1st chapter. I have used the setting in DVD decrypter to not split the files. It plays ok in Power DVD any ideas anyo...
