I'm not an audio guy, so I hope this info is correct. First off the best place to start learning audio is in the SDK samples (surely?) there is a WAVE generator there. It'll create a nice sinewave that if you put high enough will give you a headache in a few seconds. ;) this should give you an idea ...

GPS dev
Hey all - someone brought me one of the PSP's GPS system devices to play about with. I've finally got round to giving it a go (it's been sitting here most of the summer). I'm trying out John Kelley's GPS test program, thinking that due to it being open source I can play around with it easily enough....

I've updated (hopefully) both the source and the binary with the update, and also a thanks to you J.F. now included in the readme. :) I think tommorrow I'll put the options back in and put it out officially to people, then I'll get back to my more interesting projects. Tho this has taught me to look...

Sorry for the double post: Here is the source code. Feel a bit naked showing this, it's all pretty simple, but the coding is a bit sloppy. As said the game was done in a night (although the rest of the files were pre-exsisting). I've cut a bit of crap out the source, including the features that wer...

I'm gonna release the code shortly, as warned it's not great. Just doing some final clean ups.J.F. wrote:Hard to tell without the source. Not bad, Shame Oxyd isnt on the PSP yet... :( Oxyd? He means Enigma . I looked at that... I think the dependencies will make it a pain to port. SDL is okay, but Xerces looks like a pain to port to the PSP. Never really ported anything, if it was simple I'd give it a go. Tho slightly mithed as to wh...

All worked fine until I got to the final stage. Once again bluescreens. However as it's an optional stage I'm continuing working and will look into the hardware issues. >_<
However all this has resulted in:

prerelease: A Load of Balls - Simple arcade game
Hey all, Download kxploited files - Now bug free! Ok so now I got my devkit kinda working again, I thought I'd compile my 'lost' demo. This was a little game I made when quite tipsy on new years eve and then lost the code (it's been found again, hence the release). It's graphically simple and won't ...

It does its work in the current directory. You could always do this... cd build ../scripts/005-gcc-4.1.0-stage2.sh ...which is basically all toolchain.sh does. thanks ooPo, it's late and my brain isn't in gear. Been a real rough day today. Good news (for me) tho, literally just now the cygwin insta...

Boot from your ubuntu cd,and select memtest option.Let it run for 2-3 hours. If no errors occur, then boot windows, download a Prime95 program, and choose torture test(use cpu stress option).Again, let it run for some time.I bet that if it's a hardware problem then one of these programs should tell you ...

CPU overheating maybe, I dunno. Nah - all the temps remain in their limits. >_< Gah this is so frustrating. ---- gone back to windows armd with a digital camera and a notepad to catch this bluescreen and hopefully find out what's causing the bluescreen. If it's the hardware it'll hopefully show som...

Hey - To my knowledge it's still with the toolchain and cygwin, (http://dev.oopo.net/#PSP - there's the latest chain, although I'm having problems getting this to work in Cygwin or Ubuntu. Seems to be just my machine tho). Playing with the IR port is easy enough. There are a few examples thrown abou...

Blue screening on the psptoolchain
Hey, I had to format my machine, just generally XP had got itself screwed up and needed a clean up anyway and it would be quicker to reinstall. Luckily I made the machine dual-boot ubuntu and XP. However I tried to resetup the toolchain on my XP machine, on the first go it failed giving an error of ...

or you could install the toolchain on something like the bootable usb drives that DSL sells, just plug it in and off you go :) http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/usb.html I'm pretty sure just copying over your cygwin folder to a usb drive would work though if you wanted to go that way. I remember trying...

Or anywhere where there'd be a good example? http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=5089 Thanks for that :) May see if it works as an alternative. Tho slightly scared about the i...

Are you guys aware that you are copying the whole mp3 tot memory? And that the size of the PSP's mem is actually limited? If your stack size is set to like 10mb and you load an mp3 file larger than that it will crash on the malloc function because it just runs out of memory. You should implement st...

It just relies on having both a 'material color' and an alpha blended texture. The texture is of the explosion with an alpha mask, and then you can just make the textured quad get bigger over the course of 250ms or so, while also reducing the alpha of the material color. (So that the material color...
