I am going to assume that mattruby is correct and that this project is dead? It's a shame if it is seeing as how xbmc is running on linux and if it could be ported to use all spu's then the ps3 could be a real viable media hub.

You only need to copy the otheros install files to the usb, not the whole dvd. Please check the ydl forums if you have problems.

I had the same problem. Do this (it sounds crazy I know). Install the otheros that's on the ydl disk through a usb stick. Then boot into otheros without the ydl disk in the drive.
