Wasn't support for this blocked in FW 2.10? If so, does this mean that once his patch is complete that he will also release an updated otheros.bld file to allow this to be implemented again?

Unsolo, I've finally had a chance to install this on my Xubuntu 7.10 box, and with the exception of one lock-up under VLC, everything seems to works pretty good.

I'm going to do my best to promote this on the psubuntu forums to hopefully get some additional development help for this project.

Re: Overheating problems in OtherOS?

Shortly after coding in the OtherOS environment, I've been experiencing symptoms indicative of a GPU overheat. In games, I'm getting shimmering effects on certain textures, and various artifacts/glitches. I'm not sure if this is thanks to some game pushing the hardware too hard, dust, or something ...

Flash isn't so bad an idea. It's so cheap that even if you needed to replace it at the rate of 1Gb a month it'd still be cheap. And by then the next generation of flash will be out with twice the number of write cycles. Sandisk IV is up to 40MB/s. Jim That is a good point. I think I remember seeing...

I'm glad to see that my thread has sparked some debate. With regards to swap memory, I understand that using a flash card has it's limitations as the number of writes would eventually kill the card, and that swap over ethernet might not be quick enough. It got me thinking though. How about using a c...

How to get more RAM for the PS3 under Linux. My hypothesis.

Let me preface this thread by saying that I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to programming, but I am fairly knowledgeable about basic computer hardware, operating systems, and basic o/s functions. In any case I apologize in advance for any shortcomings in what I'm about to propose and welcome any an...
